Methods to Enhance Facebook Account Security

Hacking someone’s Facebook account and then posting unacceptable content is the most popular method to take revenge these days. Recently somebody hacked into my friend’s Facebook account and posted absurd messages others wall.Later he was able to recover his account but the damage has been already done.He has to explain to everyone that it was not him who had send them those messages.This can happen to anyone and its better to take preventive measures rather to face embarrassing situations later.

How to Secure your Facebook Account from Hackers:

• Login into your Facebook Account and go to Account Setting.

• Choose Security tab from left window pane.

Method 1: Enable Secure Browsing

• In your Security Settings click on Secure Browsing tab.

• Do check mark on the Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) when possible Checkbox and then click on save changes button.

• Now you will see your Facebook Account will be open as https://www.facebook.com instead of http://www.facebook.com.

Method 2: Login Notification:

By enabling login notifications you will receive alerts whenever your Facebook account is opened from an unknown device.You can associate your computer or mobile with your Facebook account.If your account is opened from another device you will receive an email with information about the location of the device.This should be enough to trigger suspicions that your account has been compromised.

Steps to Follow:

• Click on the Login Notification in Security Setting.

• Do check mark on Email button and then on save changes button.

• Now when anyone try to access your computer then you will get a email with the location of the user who logged on your account.

How To Set Recognized Devices?

If you don’t want to recieve notifications from certain devices like your own computer or mobile then you can set them as recognized.If you have enabled Login Notifications then every time you login into your account from new (unrecognised) device it will ask you to give device name and an option to save it as Recognized device.

However if at some later stage you feel that you want to remove a device from recognized list you can do it by following simple steps.

How To Remove Recognized Devices?

Steps to Follow:

• Click on the Recognized Device in Security Setting.

• Here you will see a list of all the devices that you had made to Save Device.

• Remove that particular device from your list and then click on the save changesbutton.

Now that device is removed from your recognized list

Trick to Integrate Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin in Google+

Have you moved to Google+ but  don’t want to loose touch with facebook and Twitter.In one of my earlier post’s I gave you the trick to integrate Google+ and Facebook using  Google+Facebook extension. With a new Google Chrome addon Gooce+ you can integrate Facebook,Twitter andLinkedin with your Google+ Accounts.

Requirements:-

1. Google Chrome web browser
2. Gooce+ (Google Chrome extension)

Trick integrate various social networking site in google+

• Open your Google Chrome web browser and Click here to get the Gooce+ extension.
• Now Click on Add to chrome button.
• Click on Continue button (at the left bottom of your screen) and then click oninstall button.
• Now login to your Google+ Account.
• Here you will see Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin icons in your Google+ homepage.

• Click on any of the icon that you want to access at that time in Google+. E.g If you want to Log in into Facebook from Google+.
• Click on the Facebook Icon and then click on Sign with Facebook button.
• Enter your Facebook login details in new popup window.
• After login it will Request For Permissions . Click on the Allow button.

• That’s it. Now you can update you Facebook status, likes and can do comments .

If you are getting any kind of problem like 404 Error after clicking on the Allow button then don’t panic. Go to your Google+ homepage again and click on the Facebook icon and you will see your Facebook wall on your screen in Google+.

How to Disable Notifications from Any Facebook Group

Facebook Groups is a great place to connect with like minded people.But if you have joined a large group which is too frequently updated by its users then it can be irritating.You will get notifications every time somebody posts into group.The best remedy is to disable (or customize) the notifications from the group.

How to Disable Notifications from Any Facebook Group:

• Login in to your Facebook Account.
• Goto the homepage of the Group from which you want to disable Notifications.
• At the upper right corner you will see a Notification button. Click on that button and select the OFF button. This will stop all the notifications from that group.

• You can also customize notifications using  Settings button. Under this button you select the activities of group for which you want to get notifications like all Posts, Friend’s Posts.
• Then click on Save Changes button.

Once you have Disabled notifications from the group you can  revert the settings anytime i.e. make it ON to receive the notifications.

Trick on How To Change Colour Of Facebook

Most of us have our profiles on facebook and many of us login into our facebook accounts daily.Aren’t you get bored of same old facebook features.If you want something refreshing then I have a facebook trick for you.By using this simple trick we will change the colour of the facebook.You can select any colour of your choice.

This trick has following Requirements

• Mozilla Firefox browser
• Greasemonkey
• Facebook Script

1. Open firefox browser.If you donot have you can download it here
2. Now install the greasemonkey add0n into your browser by clicking here.
3. After installation is complete restart your browser.
4. Install the facebook script by clicking here.
5. Now open facebook and login into your facebook account.
6. Now goto Tools>Greasemonkey>Userscript Commands>Customise Facebook Colours.

7. You will now see to boxes with colours.Select the colour you want and click on Set button

8. And that’s it.
